Swarovski New Spring/Summer 2017 Trends and Innovations:
THE BALANCE OF NATURE
Over the past 15 years technology and science have become a huge influence in our lives, from the way we meet, interact, live and even age. The constant influx of new technology has steadily become overwhelming, which has created a strong desire to step back and pause for thought.
In our technology-driven world, people are beginning to seek meaningfulness, fulfillment, and satisfaction in their daily lives. Wellbeing has become a global mantra.
Mindfulness, quietness and wellness is becoming increasingly important and will become even more prevalent as we move into the future.
All of this has an impact on us personally, culturally and globally on many levels including our desires within the fashion and design world as a whole.
During this process, we examine how we can reconnect with our inner selves by focusing on the eternal elements: Air, Earth, Water, and Fire - the basis of everything we need to exist.
Today I am focusing on color, style and jewelry trends within the
CLASSIC Trend: AIR

Segment: Jewelry
A calm, luminescent palette of sophisticated neutrals, ranging from white to nude, pearl to soft grey, creates an element of solitude and an oasis of peace with the addition of barely-there lilac.
Swarovski Colors highlighted within this picture include:
Violet, Greige, Silk, Light Grey Opal, White Opal and Crystal.
Spring and Summer Jewelry Design Inspiration
Silver metal and ultra-light elements alternate with crystal embellished details to create a calm, light look.
Large, single stone crystal jewelry, which is being referred to as a centering stone, combined with small stones, will become more popular. This style evokes a feeling of balance and purity.
Full body jewelry is on the rise as well as large crystals seeming to be suspended effortlessly in gravity-defying structures. Repeating double-sided elements express a meditative character, reflecting continuity and contemplation.
Spring and Summer Fashion Inspiration:
A Return to Mother Nature is the overall theme, including lots of layering, organic textures and tone-on-tone color combinations.
In the quest for a greater emotional connection, touch and texture add a sensory experience to materials. Swarovski Crystal components in geometric patterns are integrated into sharp tailored designs to create a sense of stillness.
"There is a desire to redesign the basics by giving them an emotional dimention, with an extra dose of soul to make them unique." (Peclers, SS17).
Streamlined layering, with varying thicknesses of materials overlapping to form a single garment will be a trend. "Experiments with materials in monochrome and geometric shapes add texture and replace prints." (Peclers, SS17).
Highlighting a new aesthetic that is both minimal yet poetic, highlights this AIR trend beautifully.
Swarovski 5810 Round Pearlescent White Pearl
The New Swarovski Crystal Pearlescent White Pearl evokes a sense of purity and calmness while adding a contemporary twist of a delicate sparkle that the regular White Pearl does not have.
With its white, irridescent, frosted mother-of-pearl look, it brings a modern update to a genuine classic. It demonstrates both a matte and a shinny look at the same time, that complements the ever popular Crystal AB perfectly.
Swarovski 6533 Raindrop Pendants New Spring/Summer Innovations
The new Swarovski Crystal Raindrop Pendant is one of the most elegant and gorgeous styles they have produced! Its graceful and stylish shape is absolute perfection and will be a beautiful addition to all kinds of jewelry, especially wedding jewelry. It is ideal for earrings or a pendant for the bride, bridesmaids, mother of the bride and/or a guests. This style also has an every-day type of feel that would make a flawless addition to the very popular trend of stacking or layering necklaces.
Swarovski Crystal 6905 Dragonfly Pendant
The Swarovski Crystal Dragonfly Pendant in Crystal Silver Shade or Crystal Golden Shadow is a whimsical style that wonderfully captures the essence of this AIR trend.
Dragonflies symbolize change in respect to self realization, a greater understanding of the universe and the deeper meaning of life. Dragonflies are associated with prosperity, harmony and growth, as well as being a sign of happiness, speed and purity.
Spring and Summer Color Trends For This AIR Trend
Light reddish purples such as Violet blends very well with Light Amethyst as well as the slightly deeper purple hues of Crystal Lilac Shadow and Amethyst. Beautiful Swarovski Pearls that complement this purple tone include Lavender and Mauve.
Greige is a beautiful neutral tone that is a greyish tone blended with a light taupe, Golden Shadow type of color which makes it a nice neutral between the two color tones. The Swarovski Platinum Pearl complements the Greige nicely.
Silk is a soft and airy color with hints of Light Peach that makes for a wonderful touch of sparkle in any design. It blends flawlessly with Light Silk, Crystal Golden Shadow, and Light Colorado Topaz. Complementary Pearl colors within this color range include Peach, Powdered Almond, and Bronze.
Swarovski Crystal White Opal is a milky, whitish, crystal color that is oh so dreamy! A real beauty for wedding jewelry and light, airy designs that pairs well with clear Crystal and Crystal AB.
Swarovski Clear Crystal looks similar to a diamond and is one of the all time most popular choices for creating elegant jewelry designs. The versatility of clear Crystal is endless, it will pair exceptionally well with any color or effect and is especially perfect for wedding jewelry. Beautifully complementing Pearl colors include White, Pearlescent White, Ivory (which is a gem tone color and does not have the pearlescent coating) Cream, Light Creamrose and Creamrose.
I hope this AIR trend sparks new inspiration for you to create whimsical, delicate and /or romantic jewelry designs.
